Final, final edit of magazine.

Spent the entire day publishing finished copies of this, but as it has to go to print in the morning and my bed is looking far too appealing this is definitely the finished article. Magazine is about sustainability in design hence the colour scheme and low colour tints. Quite happy with it now... Just wish Id found a better typeface for the pull quotes... oh well.

Dephect...

Second part of the lettering for dephect. think this will be used small on the sleeve of the jacket so kept it pretty simple.

The Sky's The Limit.

Just finished off the first half of some lettering for a t-shirt and jacket for Dephect Clothing. Really pleased with how it's come out. Just the Dephect script left to finish and then I should probably get a move on with my summer project. All drawn freehand and then traced up in illustrator. Click to enlarge...

Ames Compendium of Practical & Ornamental Penmanship By Daniel T.Ames.

Is a really nice book on ornamental typography/penmanship. All hand rendered it was originally published in 1883 and has got some really amazing stuff in it... Will scan in some pages and update later.

Degree Show Competition...

Had a competition at uni to get our work put up in the 3rd years degree show. We had a choice of 3 briefs. I went for one focussing on tiger extinction...

This year is the year of the tiger. By the next year of the tiger the species could be completely extinct. The brief asked us to come up with a poster focussing on this to raise awareness for the WWF's campaign.

The first image I submitted is an image manipulation of several photo's. I wanted to highlight the three major issues surrounding tiger extinction... i.e. Loss of habitat/prey via deforestation, poaching and the illegal trade in tiger parts.

Like an elephant...

Touched for the very first time. Short stop animation project with Stefanie Bushell (http://beingamagpie.blogspot.com/)... What a mission. Everything that could go wrong did and then some...I can safely say this will be my one and only crack at it.

SOME BETTER PHOTO'S...

Of Tony Hawk @ the Gumball 3000 London. Photo's taken by Willis... who, based on the last post, is clearly a better photographer than me. Cheers for the hook up mate...I can now tick this off my bucket list.

Some really bad photo's...

Of a really good exhibition... Pick Me Up @ Somerset House. These do it no justice...

Exchange...

Outline exchange with knibs MOC WOW (see post below). Cant wait to see what he comes back with. I sketch his tag he sketches mine... Quite hard sketching different letters as the whole flow changes but quite happy with it... click it for full size...

Knibs MOC WOW...

One of my all time favourite graff writers... Absolute style killer. Letters, characters, backgrounds, throw ups, dubs, tags... he smashes the granny out of all of them...

Font Family...

Just got my copy of the font family book. £20 well spent! Experimental typography featuring 90 different designers...

Stefan Sagmeister - made with 250000 euro cents sorted into 4 different colour shades and layed out in a street in amsterdam... too sick.

London Transport Design...

A project based on london transport design between 1920 and 1970. We were asked to design a logo, poster and invite for a private view of a fictional exhibition at the design museum...

Doodle...

Love sketching up tattoo designs, not had time lately but this is one of my favourites from a few months back. More for enjoyment than anything... Used my brothers back as a template but not quite convinced him to get it yet...

Stencils are gay...

This is a book cover I knocked up last night for an indesign project based on the book 'Dondi White:Style Master General'. It's a shame this guy never got the millions of pounds that Banksy has earned because he was a true pioneer and had style for days and not a cardboard cut out in sight.

And on that note...This is hilarious... http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/extra/video/p006rzfd

Childhood Fears

For my childhood fears project I chose to work with the fear of spiders. I hate the dirty little buggers. I started with some type made out of spiders which took a ridiculous amount of time then moved on to putting them in situ. My tutors weren't overly liking it but fuck 'em...

Image Manipulation

For part of my Illustrator/photoshop workshop I was asked to produce a piece of image manipulation based around the theme colour using only my own imagery. I chose the colour red.

Celebrity Horror Portraits

This was a one day brief, we were given five hours to come up with a celebrity horror portrait in any medium. I've not really done much photomontage so thought I'd give it a go as Im pretty slow when it comes to hand drawn stuff.

I chose everyones favourite skag head lowlife...Pete Doherty.

Second Attempt...

I started a blog a while back but it didn't really work out so I'm having a second crack of the whip. Will be using it to display all of my uni projects and private commissions and anything else I find on my internet travels. Hopefully I'll be a bit more active on this one. Can't believe the first year is nearly over... FUUUUUCK! I don't wanna go back to the real world. Hopefully the next two years will go a bit slower.
